What is a silent voice manga?

A Silent Voice manga is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Oima. It was first serialized in the Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2013 and ended in 2014. The manga has been collected in seven tankōbon volumes.

The story follows the life of a young boy named Shoya Ishida who was a bully in elementary school. As a result, he became an outcast in middle school and lives a lonely life. In the present day, Shoya looks back at his past and regrets his actions. He decides to make amends by reaching out to his former classmate, Shoko Nishimiya, who he used to bully for being deaf. This leads to their friendship and how Shoya tries to make amends to everyone he hurt in the past.

A Silent Voice manga has received critical acclaim for its storytelling, character development, and themes of bullying and disability. It has also been adapted into an anime movie, which premiered in 2016.
